RCL-303 RELAY CONTROLS Jf

The RCL-303, also known as the JF Relay, is a versatile and reliable electrical switching device designed for various automation applications. This relay offers 3 form C normally open (NO) contacts, capable of handling a maximum current of 10 Amperes and a voltage of 250 Volts AC or 30 Volts DC.

The RCL-303 is constructed with a high-quality, corrosion-resistant plastic housing, ensuring durability and longevity even in harsh environments. Its compact size, measuring 66.3mm (W) x 34.6mm (H) x 25.4mm (D), makes it an excellent choice for space-constrained installations.

This relay features an internal coil with a resistance of 350 Ohms and a voltage requirement of 12V DC for operation. It comes with an LED indicator, which illuminates to show the status of the relay on when the coil is energized and off when it is de-energized.

The RCL-303 offers excellent electrical performance, with a contact bounce time of less than 5 milliseconds and a contact resistance of less than 5 milliohms. It also features a low coil inductance of less than 0.2 Henry, ensuring fast switching times and minimizing voltage spikes during contact operation.

This relay can be easily controlled using various methods, including manual pushing of a button, remote control, or through automation systems using its normally open contacts. Its robust design and reliable performance make it an ideal choice for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and residential automation projects.

The RCL-303 and RCL303 JF are relays manufactured by Omron. Both models are normally-open, single-pole, double-throw (NO SPDT) relays, but they have some differences in terms of specifications. Here are the pros and cons of buying each model:

RCL-303: Pros:

1. Wide operating temperature range (-40 C to 85 C)

2. Low coil resistance (23 ohms)

3. Suitable for high current applications (up to 30A)

4. High contact capacity (10 million cycles)

5. Compact size (31.5mm x 22.5mm x 13.6mm)

Cons:

1. Higher price compared to RCL303 JF

2. Slightly higher contact resistance (25m )

RCL303 JF: Pros:

1. Lower price compared to RCL-303

2. Suitable for lower current applications (up to 10A)

3. Compact size (30.3mm x 22mm x 13mm)

Cons:

1. Narrower operating temperature range (-10 C to 70 C)

2. Higher coil resistance (37 ohms)

3. Lower contact capacity (5 million cycles)

Conclusion:

Both the RCL-303 and RCL303 JF are suitable for NO SPDT relay applications. The RCL-303 is a better choice for high current applications, high temperature environments, and longer contact life. It also has a lower coil resistance, which can help reduce the power consumption of the circuit. However, it comes at a higher price.

On the other hand, the RCL303 JF is suitable for lower current applications, and it has a lower price point. It also comes in a slightly smaller size, making it a good choice for space-constrained applications. However, it has a narrower operating temperature range, higher contact resistance, and lower contact capacity compared to the RCL-303.

Recommendation:

If you require a relay with high current capacity, long contact life, and wide operating temperature range, the RCL-303 is the recommended model. However, if you have a lower current application, a smaller budget, and do not require the extended temperature range, the RCL303 JF may be a more cost-effective option.
